Journey is a metaphor about Black People.

The mountain you try to reach is Freedom, Equality, etc., the shitty dragons that keep getting in your way is White Supremacy. The scarves are black achievements, that grow in number as the length of the scarf grows. This makes more sense when the shitty dragons knock you over, as your scarf gets decreased, a representation of white supremacy trying to keep a brotha' down.

The snow is there because black people fuckin' hate the cold.

The sand whales that hang out with you are Black forefathers/mothers like Tubman and MLK. The glyphs are just talking about Black history, but they're real quick because we can only talk about a month's worth of content before we get tired and stop talking about it.

The sand represents the heat that black people had to deal with as they slaved over plantations and shit.

Easy.
