Semi-recently, I turned a corner with regard to my healthcare and I am actively pursuing a transplant so that I can not turn 40 having spent the entirety of my 30's disabled, not able to pursue my career and other interests.
As a result I have been talking with many people, both patients and healthcare providers who work in heart and liver transplant (They often are a package deal).
As of March of this year, patients at several transplant clinics in the United States are being told to explore options for treatment for the maintenance of transplanted organs, and for transplant as a whole, in other countries. I would name names but I have been asked not to for patient confidentiality.
Very shortly, the United States will become unable to perform heart, liver, lung and other organ transplants because the systems that make those things possible are directly being attacked for defunding.
This is Social Murder.
I have been telling friends overseas, who have been pleading with me and bullying me to leave the country for my own wellbeing 'I want to stay. I don't want to run. I want to help fix things.'
Now that sentiment, while still a good idea, is a slow suicide.
