The more I hear Russell Brand speak, the more impressed with him I become. His passion seems genuine in a way that is far too uncommon in MSM these days. Here is the essay he wrote in the New Statesman that prompted this interview.
I was wondering whether to post this yesterday, but I ultimately didn't, mainly because I don't really know what to think of him. He has some good opinions here and there but it's muddled by his personality in the interview, even though Paxman is a great interviewer. Now I'm reading his essay and it seems to portray his beliefs much better.
His personality is very entertaining (I absolutely love him when he's on things like the Big Fat Quiz of the Year) but definitely distracts at times. But who knows, maybe if he was dull no one would pay attention.
He definitely seems a bit manic, but it's appealing in small doses. If that is genuinely his behavior all of the time, I could see him being an exhausting person to be around.
