The title says it all. Flying in very late tomorrow Wednesday night, July 1 Flying out early Saturday July 4. In between, kind of wide open.
Anyone have any suggestions? Streets to walk? It will be 82 and rainy, which will be nice.
Little Five Points is the hip area with little boutiques and galleries. The Vortex is the main food destination there. You should probably find some good barbecue but I can't help you there. Junkmans Daughter is a cool store in Little 5. I should be more help since I live here but I don't get out much. Sister Louisa's Church is a good bar if you're into weird hipster shit. They might even have a ping pong tournament while you're here.
Hey taco -- we managed to get down to Little Five Points today and we loved it. I stupidly couldn't remember the name of the restaurant you recommended and I didn't have access to hubski - I texted thenewgreen asking him to check hubski for me, but he said hubski was down. We found a Turkish falafel place which was delicious and a great CD, vinyl, comix store -- and right around the corner from there was -- oh, The Vortex -- with a big skull that you walk through to get in. At that point I recalled that you had recommended it.
That's great! The Vortex is just a popular burger joint. There's one in every city. Seems you missed Junkman's. It's a big store filled with random novelties, some of which you can smoke tobacco with. camarillobrillo is gonna be upset with you if you skipped The Varsity. I don't understand the hype but I ain't from 'round here.
Abbadabba's for a new pair of Dr. Marten's! You can get to every decent spot in town with MARTA. Besides Little 5 (which should definitely be your first stop) you've gotta see our aquarium and eat at The Varsity. IT IS WRITTEN Atlanta is good people. Way too many cops though so be safe. Have fun!
Fishy? I was born and live in Baton Rouge. I grew up in Atlanta. I miss it more and more every day. Rock those Docs down Euclid Avenue!
