Shared primarily because it's an awesome title.
There seems to be a lot of pushback in the triangle for paid parking downtown, but it kind of makes sense to me. As those areas get more populated they need more maintenance. I miss the free parking, but I don't miss the stairwells that always smell like piss.

I used to live in Charlotte too (so not raleigh all my life) and at least one a night I had to hear about "the fat cats in Raleigh". Kind of ironic coming from a banking town.
