I would take it a step further and say every meat eat eater should also have to clean that which they kill. Killing a rabbit and skinning a rabbit are two very different things.. I would guess. -I'm not saying you didn't do this, I just think that's probably where the reality of what you've done comes in to play. I'm no hunter, not that I am anti hunting, it's just not for me, I think I would have a harder time with the cleaning part than the killing part.
I didn't clean the rabbit, as I was about 8 years old. My dad was a bit too anxious to share hunting with me. :) I've cleaned plenty of fish, but thats very different. I think fish are easier for people because they can't wince.
I have been involved in rodent experiments, and I think it is a cause far greater than a burger. Also the rodents get anesthetized. Regardless, I think it's only normal to be adverse to inflicting pain and discomfort. But we should be open about what we do, and why we do it. In addition to animals, we could do a lot more to recognize the human suffering that lies behind our lifestyles.
