Descartes proposed a vortex model of planetary motion too. I wonder if this is another case of autodidacts reading the wrong books.

When Phil Plait dissected this article he stated as such. They guy who made these was reading some crackpot named Pallathadka Keshava Bhat. I thought Plait did a great job of explaining exactly what was wrong with those videos. It is understandable that someone without a scientific background would confuse his understanding of how our Sun moves through the galaxy. IMO it isn't covered or discussed enough. Yet another reason to follow the Bad Astronomy blog.
