The Strasserists were socialists. Nasty, racist socialists, horribly confused socialists, but socialists all the same. It didn't work out for them.
Poe-tato, po-tato. Socialism in the Chinese, Russian, or Nazi form pretty much produces the same results through slightly different means, with distinctions of interest mostly to those trying to protect the idea from the reality. Personally, I'd lump fascism and warlordism and neo-oligarchy in there with it as they are different frosting on the same donut. -SC
History is hard though. Only one party in the German government voted against the Enabling act (the key act that gave Hitler the powers he needed) and that was the "Social Democratic Party". Which is a socialist/marxist party. There was another party that was banned for voting by then. Blamed by Nazis for the Reichstag fire, much of their leadership had been arrested. That was of course the Communist Party.
