As a lot of hip hop fans this year, I've been heavy into Chance the Rapper, which is how I found out about Vic Mensa. Here's another of their collabs (and probably my most listened to song this year):

I've only listened through INNANETAPE a couple of times but I think it's really solid. Vic and Chance are a dope duo: clever, unique flows, which are both pretty similar with notable differences.
What did everyone think of INNANETAPE? What other hip/hop have you been listening to?
Aye, a Chance the Rapper fan! He's coming by my University in a few weeks, already got my tickets! I've been listening the new RJD2 album, as well as Event II from Deltron 3030.
I've also been going back to College Dropout. Which is funny, because I'm currently in college...
Oh man! I am incredibly jealous. I'm from Melbourne Australia so unless he really hits it mainstream, it might be hard to see him down here. I'm planning on visiting some fam in America sometime in the near future though, so maybe then. Although, I did get to see Das Racist and Childish Gambino at Big Day Out Festival and they're not huge acts, so hopefully there's a chance.
I saw Gambino while he was performing with Chance! Chance wasn't really good then...it was a couple of years ago though, so he's probably improved. Gambino absolutely wrecked though, he brought so much energy to the crowd during his whole set, it was awesome.
I'm so damn jealous man haha. Yeah, see the crazy thing about Chance and Vic is that they're the same age as me! And Chance's brother is also a pretty solid rapper as well and he's a couple years younger. Gambino's show was probably one of the best performances I've been to. So much energy. Everyone was feeling it. I got to touch him. Amazing show.
Oh man, the dude can give some crazy bug-eyes when he performs. Well apart from Das Racist, I also saw Lupe at Big Day Out. He absolutely killed as well. That was back when he wasn't so damn crazy. I also try and hit the local hip hop acts around Melbourne, but I'm not a big fan of "Aussie Hip Hop".
Damn, wish I coulda gone to a Lupe concert pre-crazy. Though, I dunno if you've heard Peace of Paper Cup of Jayzus, but it gives me a tiny bit of hope for his next album. Not holding my breath though. Only other concert I've gotten to go to was the one with MC Lars, Adam Warrock, MC Chris, and mah man Mega Ran, haha.
Yeah he was pretty killer. It was when he was promoting Lazers, so people were mostly there for the Show Goes On, but I was going off my head whenever he'd play some stuff from FNL or The Cool. I've heard Peace of Paper and I'm also pretty hopeful. I just hope he doesn't continue down the crazy road, but if he does, I hope he meets up with Immortal Technique and DMX and they bust out an amazing collab hahaha.
Gotta listen to INNANETAPE. Been listening to Robb Bank$, Danny Brown, Flatbush Zomebies, and Denzel Curry lately. Also, not a new record, but I'm wondering if anyone's ever heard of Run The Jewels? Collab between Southern Coke-Rap legend and Outkast friend/Dungeon Fam member Killer Mike and NY underground production legend/Def-Jux CEO/Member of The Weathermen El-P. Style is really great and pretty unique, their different strengths go together incredibly well.
Dunno if you've heard of Spaceghostpurrp (he used to be tight with A$AP Rocky) but Bank$ is a current member of his....collective, I guess? called Raider Klan. Curry used to be in it too. Bank$ new tape tha city is really good if you like the kind of style those guys go for. And Flatbush Zombies are great as well.
