I experienced some - pretty mild, but still harrowing - transphobia last Friday on my walk home (actually two separate incidences in a row) and it's left me really fragile all week. I observed the Day of Remembrance yesterday, in my own timezone, and it was a really long day, and I'm likely to do the same again today. There has been basically zero recognition of it here, which is upsetting - even in LGBTQ* circles.

This is the first time I have heard if it. I'm sorry that you experienced transphobia Ash, I don't understand where this anger and fear comes from in people? I'm sure you realize that they are the fucked up ones. The older I get the more baffled I become at some humans predilection for hate, anger and violence. What a horrible way to live and think it must be to always be so afraid and angry.

Cowards.

Thanks. Yeah, I don't understand where the hate and fear comes from, either. People are people.

Lucky doesn't quite feel like the right word, but I'm 'lucky' enough to be able to pass as male when I need to, which in some way makes things easier.
