Having previously read only one of his novels, one gets the distinct impression that Houellebecq is a shit. Such a superlative writer, though. The Map and the Territory left me agog.

His first book was a blast. But then his political agenda become more and more obvious. I stopped reading him after "Platform".

In "Platform" the dad of the narrator is killed by a jealous Muslim because the dad slept with the Muslim sister.

With the inheritance the narrator go fucking prostitute in Thailand. Where he meet the love of his life -first time he ever feel in love-. He come back to Paris and learn his working colleague was raped in the subway by a... Muslim -which has no rapport whatsoever with the plot-.

They he get married with his new love, go back to Thailand for honeymoon. Then, the beach is on, is attacked by terrorists... Muslim terrorists who kill his new wife.

Ok! Michel Thomas.. We get the point, muslims raps, kills and are bad people. Could you try to wrote a story now, for a change?
