I once heard a cop lecture on what to do if you're pulled over. It boiled down to... don't say anything other than yes or no, admit nothing, refuse the field sobriety test, refuse the blood test in order to force them to get a court order. When they take you to the hospital to get the blood sample, demand that the hospital ethics officer sign off on the procedure, tell the doctor that you may faint during the procedure because you are deathly afraid of needles and blood. If they give you a phlebotomist tell them that you require a doctor as you bleed and bruise easily. The goal is delay. Also to have them give up and send you home - which apparently they will do 25% of the time.
He also reminded us to sit quietly and not to talk as you will be recorded and the recording can be used against you.
