The whole peeple app thing reminded me of something, and I could not at all put my fingers on the idea. Then today it hit me.. The Social Register A list of the 'right' people for the wealthy and well-to-do so they knew they were marrying/doing business with/allowing into the country club/etc and to make sure that the 'wrong' people did not get into your social circle. You know, the "Polite Society" types.
