Ah, witch hunts; the bread and butter of the internet. I wonder if we'll see more of this as authors become more available to their audience through social media. I know online reviews aren't exactly loved by authors, especially since one-third of them seem to be fake, but it seems like some people need some PR training.

Are witch hunts the "bread and butter of the Internet"? This was sincerely the first one I've witnessed. I must say, they're entertaining. Any other good ones you could direct me towards?

I think that all the internet activism, witch hunts, and vigilante actions (doxxing, etc) come from the same basic desire for justice; to see wrongs righted and such. That wrong can be something like SOPA/PIPA, a bad review for a loved author, or something as simple as acting outside the culture norm of niche groups.

I try not to follow a lot of internet drama, but they are kinda like reality tv for the internet. You can try subredditdrama on reddit for a daily stream of internet drama, from petty fights to things that get national media attention.
