Seriously, what's up with U2? I can't see it.
I mostly agree. I like a few of their albums from the 80s (The Joshua Tree and War come to mind), but I don't think they've done anything worth listening to since 1991 when Achtung Baby came out. That had some good stuff on it (produced by Brian Eno, so no wonder), but it has been a constant free fall ever since. "Uno, dos, tres, catorse..." What the fuck was that?

While I understand why you would put U2 in that category, I can't. Simply because I have too many good memories that wouldn't have existed had it not been for the song "With or Without You".
It was one of the first songs I learned how to play on the guitar and sing. It was my go-to song anytime there was a young lady around when I was a kid. It worked. I owe them.

It was always about "the music" for me too. The "chicks" were just a side bonus I hadn't even realized would happen. I started playing guitar when I was 11. I'm not complaining, it was a nice "side bonus", but it really was tangential to the innate love I had/have for music.
