Thanks! I absolutely WAS asking. I was looking at those numbers and wondering how to describe my location in relation to thenewgreen's. So half a degree = 30 minutes. Got it. How far further west is that? Given that a degree of longitude is zero at the pole and about 69 at the equator, I can only say that if I were to fly south, I'd have to make perhaps a minor adjustments in order to land on tng's tree.

The difference between flying straight south and flying 0.5ยบ east of south is negligible when you're already going 1280km. If you were to go straight south for that distance, you would be ~11km off by the time you got there, by my back-of-the-napkin calc. But if you were make the adjustment before your trip, you would only add roughly 0.05km, a rounding error.

metaphorically, I feel kind of due north (as the Canada goose flies) of tng, in so many ways. sigh.

This is an appropriate conversation today, because (according to the Google doodle) its Euler's birthday. Hooray for geometry!
