Yeah, for sure. I have to wonder what the next overly fetishized thing will be . . . With my limited experience in Portland, that particular Portlandia sketch seemed like less of a parody than a (melo)dramatic re-enactment. That kind of behavior has to get annoying. Do you think you'll get many of those kinds of questions at your coffee shop?
The chicken interrogator was from norther Europe, and seemed like a tourist to be honest, maybe it was performance art but I don't think it was. Most people here aren't really like that aside from the weepy insufferable vegans and gluten free fucks I got no problem with being vegan or gluten free, but shut the fuck up about it already. Like the joke goes "How do you know if a vegan is in the room, don't worry they'll let you know." Shit gets tiresome day after day if you only have 1 gluten free item on a menu they bitch that you need at least three, if you have three they bitch that you don't have half, if you have half they bitch that the whole damn menu isn't gluten free and tell you how it could be if you used shitty gluten free ingredients. I'm sure that there will be some insufferable gits at the coffee shop but it's not really that kind of neighborhood and I think I'll pummel the pretension out of em right quick.
