we reduced sales volume for the year by 7% because of consumer spending in the US and because of Canadian impact due to tariffs and political situation meanwhile it’ll be harder (maybe not possible?) to get a covid-vaccine later this year? and the budget proposal is fucked if there’s not a big democratic sweep in midterms we are fucked as a country maybe the west coast can band together again like last time - definitely feeling more and more like WA should hold federal taxation and use it to fix our own shit at this point
Americans are mostly too broke for frivolous purchases. That’s what’s behind the reduced spending. When grocery prices go up but paychecks don’t, buying stuff falls. I’m not expecting a sweep in 2026. Most people aren’t engaged in politics unless they’re forced to.
there’s a massive and lengthy “yes, and” response to this but im too tired and lazy to type it out our product costs less than $3 each and we haven’t raised prices this year
We finally finished making the wedding photo album with the photographer the other day. I'm still wildly impressed with the photos she has taken, in particular their ability to evoke the emotions of that day even after poring over them again and again for the album. I'm try to give myself more room to think lately, to meditate on nothing in particular. My daily routine has now included a morning meditation when I wake up for most of the past six months. It is slowly paying some dividends by instilling more calmness throughout the day. As my wife is going through some things (an ADHD diagnosis to name but one thing of many), I'm glad I'm there to support her to the best of my abilities.
It's Wednesday Afternoon in Japan so here I am posting this on Wednesday! Japan trip is beautiful. It's been a wonderful reset, and we're not even halfway through our trip! Tokyo was awesome but too many people. Bullet train was smooth but really busy. Smaller local train to Takayama had bigger windows and was quieter, we liked that one better. Takayama is great. Off to Kanazawa and Kyoto (possible day trip to Osaka too for the world fair) in the coming days. Then a quick trip to Kinosaki for tattoo friendly onsens, and then home. Food and trip has been incredible so far, can't wait to see what else comes our way!
